technology profiles
Massimiano Bucchi masterfully summarizes authoritative statistical survey on the technological habits of the gens Italy (from Nova de Ilsole24ore today.)
Tecnoludico
It has many objects that technology is mainly used for entertainment such as games consoles and mp3 players. However, apart from the mobile phone and mp3 player usually does not carry with them almost nothing. He is a frequent user of social networks. Before a new device attempts to learn to use it utonomamente. Expressed more positive opinions of the media on the beneficial impact of new sectors but features some doubts over the reliability of information networking, in particular on issues relating to health as a likely due to the fact that identifies websites and digital technology, particularly as the scope of entertainment and socializing . Very Young in the range between 15 and 29 years and predominantly female, representing 14.9 of the sample. It is the closest to what is meant as a 'digital native'.professional geek ; ;
has several technological objects that brings with it every day for work especially laptop usb smartphone and netbook. It is writing to social networks but does not use them regularly. Often used Internet sites to consult on science and technology, and frequently visit online forums and blogs to learn how to use new technological objects they buy. Considers it more positively than the average impact of innovations in areas such as nanotechnology and biotechnology internet in a less pronounced nuclear energy. It is less concerned about potential health risks related to the use of mobile phones and wireless networks. Concludes very strict on the fact that in Italy you do not pay enough attention to innovation. Predominantly highly educated male in the range between 30 and 44 years represents 26.6 of the sample.Tecnoescluso
not have any device except the phone. Faced with a new object technology is not autonomous but should always seek help from more experienced friends. Never uses the internet or very rarely, and often does not know what are the social network. It is very concerned about possible dangers that mobile phones and wireless networks could cause health and considers it more of a negative impact on the average of all fields of technology including the Internet. The alien is the concern that Italy may be penalized by insufficient attention to the issues of innovation. Embodies the "digital delay" Italian in a country with the third highest average consumption of TV OECD after the United States and Greece more than 4 hours per day. Composed primarily of women with a mean age around 60 years and low education. Represents 39.1 of the sample.Tecnomoderato
has at its disposal an arsenal of discrete technological especially laptop and satnav over the phone but rarely carries over to other mobile device. Use the web primarily as an information resource but does not disdain the social networks but considers it more often than the average charge of superficial relations. It is the only one who faced with a new device gives priority to consult manuals and manufacturer's instructions. It is slightly more sensitive than the first two types of potential health risks of wireless networks and mobile telephony. Appreciates the impact of the Internet but is less optimistic about the implications of areas such as biotechnology and nuclear energy. Do not have a profile generally marked the average age is around 40 years and the high level of education. Represents 19.4 of the sample.Tuesday, February 22, 2011

The fact that an adequate mastery of educational technology is part of of skills necessary for every teacher has an idea now fairly accepted and shared, though in practice it is rarely reflected in reality. Instead I wanted to focus on another aspect.
This is the entrance of educational technologies on the horizon as well as instructional techniques in the curriculum. In fact, the National Guidelines of 2007 (Fioroni) make explicit reference to this "subject area", suggesting that the school should not only use these tools (it is obviously an invitation to cross all disciplines), but it must also deepen the meaning, problematize the operation, to explore the potential and risks.
Technology section devoted to the regulation reads: "explores the potential of information technology (broadly defined) as a cross-disciplinary cultural introducing new dimensions and new possibilities in the creation, communication and control over all kinds of human labor, including teaching and learning in all disciplines (mathematical-scientific and otherwise). "
E 'and then especially the teacher of that technology - in this curricular approach - is entrusted with the task of "overseeing" this area of \u200b\u200bknowledge and skills, making them the object of its educational research, methodological and disciplinary action.
not fail those who want to get Directions from the legitimacy of the old (and so much more common) approach that the technology should have a role of mere support to other disciplines, providing them with materials, tools, devices, etc..
the contrary here is to emphasize how important that becomes a citizen of the information society and knowledge - where learning extends along throughout their life - equipped with the skills essential and vital (life skills) relating to the modern ways of learning, largely influenced and changed by the worldwide spread of digital media.

Why Is My Face Uneven?
new textbooks and basic school
It is expected that the technology - as a school subject, especially in middle school - aims to enhance the dexterity of the children. I'll try to explain why it is not so much agree with this approach.
I am convinced that the manual is an important right and is a key component in the growth and maturation of an individual. It seems to me that if we want a manual with the ability to use their hands to perform different and increasingly complex, its expansion should be pursued not only by technology but by all school subjects - in a perspective cross-and transdisciplinary ( a bit 'as it happens in kindergarten and primary school).
The fact is that the technology can be expected to contribute qualitatively and quantitatively superior in this direction. For example, the task of technology is to understand the artifacts - tools, machinery, technical systems - and explore ways of interaction between them and humans. In today's society, characterized from the dissemination of information and communication technologies, the technology should be of interest to new media , the new instruments, and their interfaces. It should be borne in mind that the computer is a machine that needs and encourages a high degree of abstraction and symbolism, favoring a manual operation and a new type of . The human-computer interaction becomes more important and then gradually replacing traditional forms of interaction and interactivity imposing itself as the object of attention and study for a modern technology.

Technology
in Italy who teaches technology in middle school - like myself - knows the ups and downs of this matter, not always adequately appreciated by the ministerial decision-makers and more than once at the risk of ultimate extinction. I get the impression that, in addition to this environmental condition certainly not favorable, it is unfortunately common among teachers themselves some uncertainty and indecision if you are and what the reasons are strong in support of conservation - or even strengthening - of his teaching in basic education (primary and secondary).

who is convinced - as I am - whether on the contrary of an important subject for the training of the person can not but feel compelled to shed light on this important issue and try to bridge this gap.
consider briefly what are the reasons most often taken to support the teaching of Technology.
1. These reasons seem sometimes result from the strong technological characterization of the environment and the society in which we live, to the point of use - to indicate this configuration, social, cultural and economic - to the famous expression of 'technology company'. So, in essence, it is essential for citizens of today and tomorrow even more than a adequate cultural facilities on the extent technological ; only mastering appropriate conceptual categories - so - you could make a conscious exercise their right and duty to participate in the management of the common good in a society deeply steeped in technology.
2. Other times these reasons are identified in the theoretical and practical scope of professional membership of the same teacher - electronic, mechanical, engineering, architecture, agronomy, computer science, etc.. - And give the teaching of technology as an important educational value preparatory courses of study in respect of - and professional - Working in areas of technical or technological . As if teaching the technology of the young (or young) should have a value and significance of preparatory or preparatory exercise in the future, of any profession. And if that was enough to justify its presence in the curriculum of basic school, an alleged practice of spendable this matter, whatever its more or less extensive educational potential.
I propose instead with this short contribution - without wishing to deny the validity of all the settings mentioned above - to suggest some topics that I consider fundamental and necessary to definitively confirm the presence of a significant Technology among the materials that make up the curriculum of basic school.
It therefore affirmed the decision with the following: the technical dimension of human action is at once so profound and essential 'human animal even be characterized by its very appearance on earth. In other words - as supported and effectively argued, for example, German anthropologist Arnold Gehlen - in the wide horizon of mental and cultural conformity relating to man a central place is occupied by ' action, understood as a constructive do be open to the world and unable, constitutionally, to live with purely organic and natural means.
This view - that recognizes technical acting something distinctive of the same human constitution - thus represents an overcoming of those visions that capture technique predominantly or exclusively in the size of functional and utilitarian, which is still present.
It primarily clearly recognize the role played by the needs as an impetus for human action. Needs that only the dawn of civilization are linked to survival and livelihood, and that - with the progress of the human species - are more often the connotation of desires. And 'in fact, the distinctive culture of a given society at a given time to develop the idea - widespread and widely accepted - by Wellness or common good, and it is to his or her achievement enhancement that are directed from time to time the wishes of individuals or social groups and then pushing the man to a ceaseless creative and transformative action.
anthropological background Accepting this option means promoting a pedagogical approach whereby the formation of the person who can not compete even the teaching of a subject - such as technology - which puts the focus of its research methodology and a disciplinary discussions on the new technology, its motivations, consequences, implications, and its interconnections with other areas in which they exercise the countless and extraordinary faculty.
